Researchers are increasingly faced with a web of policies governing the fate of the data underlying their studies. Funding agencies, university administration, publishers and professional organizations are all actively working to promote data sharing. While these may serve as extrinsic motivators, researchers may be either intrinsically motivated or reluctant to make their data available for a multitude of reasons. This talk will explore findings from current studies on the topic of researcher perspectives and attitudes towards data sharing.
