Data Security and Open Science

Aaron Smith is currently the Interim Director for the OSU IT Security Office.  In this role, he is responsible for assessing the security posture of OSU’s digital assets and developing strategies to protect them accordingly.  During his time with OSU IT, he has been responsible for managing the IT Security Operations Center, conducting computer forensics investigations and eDiscovery requests, performing incident response procedures, and providing security awareness training.

 

Aaron graduated from OSU in May 2006 and worked as a police officer with the OSU Police Department before starting with OSU IT in July 2010.  He is also Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
