COVID-19 placed unprecedented demand on public health infrastructure for data collection and information distribution. Everything from cases to testing supplies and hospital beds needed to be tracked and reported. The 21st century public expects such information to be available real-time, but existing systems were incapable of delivering reliable information. The Oklahoma State Department of Health has spent the past year working with healthcare partners to build functional and resilient systems to provided needed information to consumers and decision makers. Dr. Taylor will provide a brief discussion of the problems, approaches, and remaining opportunities in realizing the expectations of Oklahomans in the age of a pandemic.
